MEL are seeking an experienced Electrical Project Manager to oversee the planning, coordination, and delivery of electrical projects within industrial and commercial environments. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing projects from receipt of an initial enquiry to client handover, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and in full compliance with technical, safety, and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
· Manage electrical projects from pre-construction through to handover
· Plan and programme works, resources, and materials to meet project deadlines
· Coordinate electricians, subcontractors, suppliers, and other trades
· You will demonstrate strong leadership, promote company values, culture and lead by example through every interaction
· Ensure compliance with BS 7671, health & safety legislation, and company procedures
· Assist with our annual NICEIC assessment
· Monitor project budgets, costs, variations and project applications
· Review drawings, specifications, and scopes of work
· Conduct site visits, progress meetings, and client liaison
· Ensure quality control and sign-off of completed works
· Manage RAMS, permits, and site documentation
· Oversee testing, inspection, and commissioning of electrical systems
· Resolve technical issues and manage project risks
· Prepare progress reports and final project documentation
Essential Requirements:
· Proven experience as an Electrical Project Manager or similar role
· Strong electrical technical background (commercial/industrial)
· Recognised electrical qualification (NVQ Level 3 or equivalent)
· 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS 7671)
· Experience managing budgets, programmes, and subcontractors
· Excellent knowledge of health & safety and CDM regulations
· Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and specifications
· Strong organisational, leadership, and communication skills
· Full UK driving licence
Desirable Skills and Qualifications:
· SMSTS or SSSTS qualification
· Inspection & Testing qualification (2391 or equivalent)
· Experience with commercial fit-outs, large-scale projects, or M&E coordination
